Of all the Founding Fathers, Ben Franklin is the one most Americans can identify with. He could move seamlessly from sharing a beer with you and telling bawdy tavern stories to talking science to English nobles and conversing with King Louis XVI at the Palace of Versailles. Franklin is the most quoted of the Founding Fathers with his pearls of wisdom regarding daily life. Ever the inventor, Americans still benefit today from Franklin’s bifocals, the lightning rod and the odometer. And many other things. Franklin did not have the pedigree of Jefferson, Washington, Madison or John Adams. He was us. Join us for History Night on April 24th as we explore the life of this most compelling individual.
