Join us at the Amery Area Public Library for a summer of reading and activities for all ages!

Begins June 3 and runs through August 3.

Youth (0-18) Challenge

For every 75 minutes that you read, you get a raffle ticket for a chance to win a prize! Our prizes this summer include LEGOs, a full set of Harry Potter books, and more.

You can also earn a raffle ticket for each program that you attend. See our June/July calendar for all of our programs, and check our website and social media for more details.

You can track your reading using a paper passport that you can pick up at the library, using a double-sided page that you can print at home, or virtually on the  Beanstack website.

Adult Challenge (18+)

Earn a raffle ticket for our weekly prize drawing for every 75 minutes you read. The weekly prize is a tote bag with book themed prizes and a $20 gift certificate for a local business.

Read 600 minutes and earn a free book! You will also get a raffle ticket for the grand prize of an Explorer+ Membership to the Science Museum of Minnesota. (click here for full details).

Science Heroes: Adventure of the Lost Treasure

Monday, June 3 at 3 PM

Interactive STEM show! The audience will help the performer conduct exciting science experiments and bring the story to life! Learn about chemical reactions, air pressure, physical explosions, and more.

Chad Lewis: Wisconsin's Gangster Past

Monday, June 17 at 6 PM

Chad Lewis is a researcher, author, and lecturer on topics of the strange and unusual. In this presentation, he will share the history of America’s most infamous gangsters in Wisconsin, from bank robberies to shootouts and more.

Thursday, June 20 at 2 PM


Bruce’s Bug Show will teach you about insects and arthropods using Show ‘n Tell, storytelling, and hands-on activities that include LIVE critters!  Everyone will have the opportunity to experience bugs using ALL their senses!

TD3 Innovative Gaming: Minecraft Dinosaur Safari

Thursday, June 27 at 6 PM


Players are immersed in a prehistoric Minecraft world to encounter lifelike dinosaurs! We will use creativity, survival, and problem-solving skills to build a secure habitat for the dinosaurs, complete a fossil fuel scavenger hunt, and construct observation platforms, feeding areas, and nesting sites.

Pint Size Polkas: Wisconsin Schneider and the Magic of Music

Monday, July 8 at 3 PM

Mike will bring music, magic, comedy, education and fun to your library! Trivia questions, jokes, and Name That Tune will thrill with adventure, with topics like Amelia Earhart’s flight across the Atlantic Ocean, the race to finish the Transcontinental Railroad, and theme songs from popular adventure movies and TV shows.

Dive into stories about daring and exciting experiences by playing book bingo with six New York Times bestselling and book club favorite authors. Enjoy presentations by the authors, while playing an interactive virtual game of bingo, including fun prizes.

The Magic of Isaiah returns! This show will use a variety of books to share the importance of reading and provide a fun, magical experience to all ages.

Snake Discovery: Snake, Rattle & Roll

Tuesday, July 30 at 2:30 and 5:00, choose one!


Watch a salamander eat, debunk turtle myths, touch snakes, and more! This program focuses on the reptiles and amphibians that call Minnesota and Wisconsin home, but they bring some exotic reptiles for fun, including a large boa constrictor! After the presentation, there is time for the audience to touch and hold the reptiles, if they wish.

Paperback Rider, our book-bike, will be at the Farmers Market, Music on the River, and other special events this summer! You can check out a book and even get a library card if you don’t have one already!

Join us at  North Park as we close our Summer Reading Program. We will have games, snacks, and the drawings for our Youth and Adult raffle prizes.
